Monthly Archives: January 2016

In a few days we welcome the Phillips to join us and we couldn’t be more excited! Yet today we also take time to celebrate and remember, as with each rock placed on this ebenezer, God’s incredible faithfulness to us and all we’ve seen Him do and what our two families have been through together. The Torrences are not just “like family”, they are our family and we can’t imagine these first two years without them. As we move from one “season” to the next, we are excited for what He has in store for us all.

Today was the last day of the first semester for our kids. They have a two week break, but for our kids, they won’t be back in school again until we return in May. Mrs. Affet has been Levi’s teacher for the past two years and she has been wonderful. She too, is expecting so this was his last day with her as his teacher. We are so thankful for her and how she has helped Levi adjust to Turkish school and language these past two years. **And yes…he was a little excited to show all the teachers his cowboy outfit**

We prayed that Levi would find one good Turkish friend at school this year and Berat has been that good friend. This is Berat’s first year in school and he has had some trouble with other boys bullying him, but he found Levi to be a safe friend and they both get along so well; I’m thankful that they have one another. Today, his mom invited us over to play and have lunch together. It was nice to get to know the rest of his family too.
